Five

marooned by choice upon the sand
we paddles far from shore
found a quiet spot to build a fort
driftwood scattered there
we gathered up our love and courage
behind a salty log we laid
the sun as bright as new love
waves lapping the shore close by
warm sand upon our bodies
a supple breast caressed by hand
touched the velvet, felt the warmth
kissed the velvet, tasted earth
smelled the velvet, fragrant moss
the weight empowered us both
birds sing, eagles shriek
hearts beat in embrace
lay in peace, upon a shore
our wooded shelter will keep us both
