the Humans

Beware of the humans
For they admire your unfurling blossoms
then steal them to adorn their collar with your bloom
I say be aware of humans
The human watches while your boulders cascade from high
Leaving origin peaks, scrambling down to the valley below
Beware of humans for they capture your strength
Sack glimmering gems to place manufactured crowns upon their heads
plundering the Sierra Madre that birthed the element conglomerate

humans coyly pass by
And with a side glance, count the number of fruits upon your branches
The human plucks the juice yellow-orange flesh, unexpectedly
Carelessly looking back while swaying tree weeps for its fruit
Oh, I say beware of human
Cover thyself with pointy thorns, long thorns
Thorns that draw blood
for humans seek

Be aware of humans
Protect green flesh, the bulging tender softness
Cover thyself in weapons, spikes, goo, itchy threads
For humans come, in the heat of the day,
Tromping sun bleached clay
Be aware, stay upon yielding soils
Where it rains, cool winds spiral
And breezes burst under turquoise sky

Won’t you stay aware of humans?
for humans hunt, sniff out
The tender parts and take secret nibbles
Be ware of humans
Beware of the Humans
